This refers to a range of techniques which focus on the construction and reconstruction of people's cognitions, (thought processes) emotions and behaviours. Generally CBT works on assisting clients to recognize and deal with problematic and dysfunctional ways of thinking and behaving. It can be especially helpful in dealing with obsessive compulsive thoughts and behaviours, panic attacks, and other anxiety states.
